Here’s our list of warm places for some October sun.

The Italian capital is hard to beat when it comes to history and culture.

And in October, it’s the perfect temperature for a stroll around the city.

With highs of 22C and an average of 18C, you’ll be able to stay outside until the late evening.

  • Things to do: Colosseum, St Peter’s Basilica, Vatican Museums and of course lots of eating!

One of the most popular Canary Islands, Tenerife will be a lot quieter in October than in the height of the summer.

And best of all, you’ll still have temperatures of around 25-26C, for those all-important sunbathing sessions.

  • Things to do: Siam Park, Mount Teide, Loro Park.

One for the family or couples looking for a fun break away is Orlando.

If you go in October, you’ll be in time for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World.

There’s also Universal Orlando, who equally put on Halloween shows.

You’ll also find some fabulous outlet malls in Orlando, where you can buy designer items at discount prices.

Temperatures for Orlando in October are around 24C, making long days out comfortable.

  • Things to do: Universal, Walt Disney World, Orlando International Premium Outlets

Sharm El Sheikh

If you want guaranteed sunshine without the long-haul flight, you should consider Egypt.

Sharm El Sheikh is a great resort town between the desert of the Sinai Peninsula and the Red Sea.

It’s known for its beautiful beaches and water, with temperatures reaching 32C in October.

Sharm El Sheikh is also budget-friendly, with four and five-star all-inclusive hotels often advertised at bargain prices.

  • Things to do: Snorkelling in the Red Sea, quad biking in the desert, relaxing at Na’ama Bay.

Being the southernmost Greek Island, Rhodes still has attractive temperatures in October.

Visitors can expect highs of around 24C, which is warm enough to enjoy the beach.

However, you will want to bring a light jacket for the evenings as the climate becomes cooler.

  • Things to do: Acropolis of Lindos, Rhodes Old Town, Palace of the Grand Master

Fancy something tropical? Cancun may be the place for you.

You’ll struggle to find beaches as beautiful as those on the Yucatán Peninsula.
